Jerry F. Gartly - CA, CPA (IL, USA)
Jerry graduated with a Finance degree from the University of Calgary in 1994, and began articling as a Chartered Accountant (CA) student in December 1994. While articling
with Johnston Morrison Hunter & Co. LLP, Jerry obtained his Accounting degree from the University of Athabasca. Jerry went on to pass the Uniform Final Exam and obtained his CA designation in January 1998. He also obtained his Certified Public
Accountant designation (United States Accounting Designation) in August 2000. Jerry became a partner at JMH in January 2005.
Through the firm, Jerry has accumulated extensive experience in the areas of taxation and assurance in dealing with both Canadian and US clients. He has spent an extensive amount of time dealing with both personal and corporate tax issues for small business and large corporations. Jerry has also been the manager and partner-in-charge of several audits in both the private and public sectors.
Jerry has been involved with coaching high school and college basketball in Medicine Hat over the past ten years. He has enjoyed being involved with youth sports, since he feels that athletics are a great outlet for young people to learn and interact with their peers.
